Anglers are a valuable source of information about fish population characteristics, fish survival rates and other information of value to fisheries managers. Information on current or ongoing angler surveys is presented here.


B.A.S.S. Tournament Creel Summaries - Annual Georgia Tournament Reports

The Wildlife Resources Division, Fisheries Management Section has contracted with Dr. Carl Quertermus of the University of West Georgia since the mid-1970's to compile and summarize catch data from B.A.S.S. Chapter Federation tournaments held in Georgia. Results are reported in an annual tournament creel report.


Fisheries Section Annual Reports

Fisheries Management Section annual reports of activities, accomplishments and expenses by fiscal year (FY). FY 2003 = July 1, 2002 - June 30, 2003, and so on. Paper copies of reports for FY 1979-1999 are available upon request. Call 770-761-3014.

Georgia Walleye Production and Fishing Information

Lake Sturgeon Reintroduction to the Coosa River Basin

Forty years have passed since lake sturgeon were caught from the rivers in Northwest Georgia. This magnificent fish is now getting a second chance in the Coosa River Basin with a little help from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

Fishing is the most popular wildlife-related activity in Georgia. About 1.15 million resident anglers enjoy a variety of trout streams, warmwater streams and impoundments. The Fisheries Section manages these resources through several important activities.
