Bird watching has become one of the most popular forms of outdoor recreation. To celebrate Georgia birdlife and to learn more about the adventures of birding, bring your entire family and join in the fun at the Pinewoods Bird Festival at Pebble Hill Plantation on Saturday, April 7-8, 2006. The Festival will host a variety of activities for all ages to enjoy. Programs will focus on the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker, rare Bachmans sparrows, bats, butterflies, prescribed fire and more. Volunteers are still needed to help moderate presentations, man the registration booth, and fill in throughout the festival with a variety of tasks. Volunteers can sign up for 3-hour blocks.
