Internship Opportunities

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources is seeking college students and recent graduates for an excellent opportunity at Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center in Mansfield, GA.  

WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING? The primary responsibility during this paid internship is to assist with and lead activities for on-site, outreach, and residential school programs.  Classes typically focus on wildlife conservation, ecology, outdoor skills, and Georgia natural history.  Other duties include caring for live animal teaching aids, assisting with the state Project Wild coordinator as needed, and weekend animal care and educational programs.  

WHAT IS REQUIRED? Applicants must be self-motivated, enthusiastic about wildlife, and interested in working with animals. Preference will be given to those candidates with wildlife or education-related degrees.

TIME OF INTERNSHIP: This internship begins mid-September and lasts for 36 weeks.

PAYMENT/HOUSING: Selected candidates will receive a weekly stipend of $350.  Free housing on the area is available.
