Conservation Ranger Written Examination Announcement

The Department of Natural Resources is now accepting applications for testing for the job class of Conservation Ranger on a walk-in basis the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Tuesday and Thursday of every month at 8:30 am and 1 pm at the State Personnel Administration office in Atlanta (200 Piedmont Ave. Suite 418). (All vacancies will be filled as non-merited positions)  Atlanta testing information and directions can be found by calling 404-656-2724.

Application Procedure

Applicants testing for Conservation Ranger at the walk-in Atlanta test site must apply for the position prior to coming to take the test.  This is required due to the Atlanta test site converting over to computer based testing in lieu of the old paper/pencil testing they used to adminster.  To be allowed to take the test:

Applicants must submit a completed State of Georgia Application for Employment (click here for a pdf file; click here for a Word file) when they arrive for testing. (It is recommended that you arrive at least 30 minutes before the testing time to allow for processing you application). Applications will continue to be accepted at any DNR branch office or at the State Personnel Administration office and these applicants will be notified of a testing date at a later time. Applicants should also provide a copy of their diploma or transcript from an accredited college, university, or technical school when arriving for testing.

Location

The list of available applicants generated from this announcement may be used to fill vacancies statewide. Applicants must be willing to move to any area of the state to accept employment and must indicate statewide availability (160) on front page of the application.
